Chevening Scholarship 2020-21 is now open. Chevening is the UK'S Government Scholarship Program for pursuing Masters Degree at any UK Universities. You can Study any Course at any UK's World Class Universities. In 2017, UK's Government selected 63 Students from Pakistan. This is a Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study in the UK.
Chevening provides fully-funded scholarships, the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations. You will develop professionally and academically, grow your network, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.

Eligible Countries:

Scholarship Value:

 A Chevening Scholarship normally covers University Tuition fees, a Monthly Stipend, Travel costs to and from the UK, an Arrival allowance, a homeward departure allowance, the cost of one visa application, and a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK. 
 

Chevening Scholarship Requirements:

Required documents:

Prior to starting your application for a Chevening Scholarship please ensure you have the following ready:

  • Valid passport/national ID card. (You can apply for Passport, as the deadline for Chevening Scholarship is 5th November 2019).
  • You can submit your application without a valid passport. However, you will be required to bring a valid passport or official photo identification to your interview at the British embassy or high commission if selected. 
  • University transcripts and degree certificates (undergraduate, postgraduate)
  • Three different UK Master's course choices.
  • Names of two referees who know you in a professional or academic capacity.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must:

  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country. Chevening Scholarship is open to all including Chevening Scholarship Malaysia, Chevening Scholarship Egypt, Chevening Scholarship India, Chevening Scholarship Pakistan (Pakistan is eligible).
  • Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship has ended.
  • Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a post-graduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree in the UK.
  • Have at least two years’ work experience.

(If you have this work experience during your studies or even before your studies, such as part-time employment, Voluntary work, Paid or Unpaid internships, which counts up to 02 years, then apply for it. Work experience can be in any field and does not have to be related to the courses to which you apply.)

  • Apply to 3 different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 16 July 2020.
  • Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 16 July 2020.
     

You do not need to have IELTS at this point, once you are selected you will have a timeline to submit IELTS by July 2020.

Tip: Please apply in more than 3 universities, at least 5 to 6 to secure admission.

Application Procedure:

Step 1: Course Finder

  • Please follow the following link and find the course and University, that Chevening is funding in the UK.
  • http://www.chevening.org/find-a-course
  • Choose your three courses carefully. You will not be able to change your course choices after submitting your application unless you are granted permission to do so at the interview stage. You will need to apply separately to your selected courses directly via the university. To be awarded a scholarship, you must get an unconditional offer for one of your course choices by 16 July 2020.
  • Applicants will need to select three different masters courses. These can be three different courses at the same institution or three similar courses across up to three different universities.
  • We recommend selecting three similar courses at three different universities to increase the likelihood that you will gain entry into one of them.

Recommendation Letters (References):

If you are shortlisted for an award, you will be required to log into the Online Application System and request a reference from your referees. The request will generate an email to the referees and they will need to submit the reference by 25 February 2020. This is a different process from last year – please note you are no longer able to upload a reference on behalf of a referee. We will not accept references that are sent directly to the Chevening Secretariat or to your local British embassy/high commission.

Interviews:

If you are shortlisted to interview for a Chevening Award, you will be invited to attend an interview in the city where the British embassy or high commission has a representation.
Chevening Scholarships will run an interview from 2nd March 2020 to 1 May 2020.
