Federal Board of Revenue FBR Jobs 2026 for Legal Advisors in Quetta under Transformation Plan

The Government of Pakistan, Office of the Chief Collector of Customs (Appraisement) Balochistan, is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified legal professionals. This recruitment drive is part of the FBR’s Transformation Plan, approved by the Prime Minister, aimed at enhancing legal compliance and litigation outcomes.

Successful candidates will serve as Individual Consultants (Legal Advisors) for Regional Directorates of Law and Prosecution, representing the department before the High Court, Customs Appellate Tribunals, and the Federal Tax Ombudsman.


Core Responsibilities and Scope of Work

The selected Legal Advisors will play a critical role in the FBR's legal framework, including:

  • Appellate Representation: Preparing legal submissions and representing the Directorate in various appellate forums.

  • Complex Research: Conducting in-depth legal research on complicated tax and customs matters.

  • Advisory Services: Reviewing notices, replies, and orders issued under prevailing tax laws.

  • Litigation Strategy: Assisting in the systematic review of pending litigation to prioritize cases based on value and legal merit.

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): Drafting settlement proposals and assisting in negotiation strategies.


Eligibility Criteria

Interested legal practitioners must fulfill the following minimum requirements:

  • Academic Qualification: LLB from a recognized university.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of High Court post-qualification experience, preferably specializing in Tax or Customs laws.

  • Specialization: A proven track record in Tax Law and Customs-specific litigation.

  • Bar Membership: Valid membership of the Balochistan Bar Council or the Supreme Court Bar Association.

  • Reputation: Must have a clean professional record with no history of being blacklisted or facing disciplinary action by any Bar Council or Government entity.


Terms of Engagement

  • Number of Positions: 02 (Two) based in Quetta.

  • Nature of Job: Full-time, contractual basis.

  • Duration: Initial engagement for one (1) year, extendable based on performance.

  • Remuneration: Monthly salary in the range of PKR 300,000, subject to qualifications and experience.
