HEC announcing Scholarships are open for Fall 2026 Admissions under the US-Pak Knowledge Corridor initiative, managed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.

 

Scholarship Overview

 

• Program: US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor

• Purpose: To invite applications for the award of scholarships for PhD programs in Top 100 QS World Ranked US Universities for the Fall 2026 intake.

• Focus: The scholarship is only for the PhD Program and does not include MS Leading to PhD.

• Preference: Preference will be given to applicants having admission in preferred subject areas as mentioned on the HEC website.

 

 Eligibility Criteria

 

Category	Requirement
Nationality	Pakistan/AJK nationals.
Education	Minimum 4 years Bachelor's degree (BS/BSc/16 years formal education).
Academic	No 2nd or 3rd Division in the entire academic career, except for one 2nd Division in the Category I & II scholarship (Master's or Intermediate).
Age Limit	Maximum age on the closing date shall not exceed: <ul><li>40 years for regular Government employees/regular faculty members of public sector universities & Government colleges/regular researchers of approved R&D organizations.</li><li>35 years in all other cases.</li></ul>
Conduct	Must not be availing any other scholarship.

 Specific Scholarship Criteria & Stipend

The scholarship is divided into two categories based on the ranking of the US University where the applicant secures admission:

 

1. Category I: Scholarship (Top 50 QS World Ranked US Universities-Overall)

 

• Stipend Includes: Tuition Fee (as per university invoice), Stipend, and Health Insurance.

• Prospective Applicants Must Have:

  • Secured admission in a Top 50 QS World Ranked US University.

  • Valid GRE - General Score (Minimum 300 in total) OR HEC HAT Score (Minimum 60%).

 

2. Category II: Scholarship (51-100 QS World Ranked US Universities-Overall)

 

• Stipend Includes: Tuition (up to USD 1,500/- per annum), Stipend, and Health Insurance.

• Prospective Applicants Must Have:

  • Secured admission in a 51-100 QS World Ranked US University.

  • Valid GRE - General Score (Minimum 300 in total) OR HEC HAT Score (Minimum 60%).

 

 Important Note

• Applications are invited from prospective applicants who satisfy both general and specific eligibility criteria.

• There will be no binding on HEC to provide scholarships to all selectees. HEC will select only the best on merit.

• The latest QS Ranking (2025) will be used as a reference for QS Ranking.
