1. Permanent Commission (PC) - For Intermediate/A-Level Students

These courses are designed for younger candidates looking for a long-term career in the PAF. Generally, the age limit is 16 to 22 years as of October 15, 2026.

161 GD(P)	General Duty Pilot	F.Sc (Pre-Eng/Pre-Med/Computer Science) or A-Level with 65% marks. Vision: 6/6 each eye (without glasses).
107 CAE	Aeronautical Engineering	F.Sc (Pre-Eng) with 65% marks. Includes Chemistry as a mandatory subject.
117 AD	Air Defence	F.Sc (Pre-Eng/Pre-Med/Computer Science) with 65% marks.
36 Admin	Admin & Special Duties	F.Sc (Pre-Eng/Pre-Med/Computer Science) with 65% marks.
19 Logistics	Logistics Course	F.Sc (Pre-Eng/Pre-Med/Computer Science) with 65% marks.

2. Short Service Commission (SSC / SPSSC)

For candidates with specialized degrees (Bachelor's or Master's). The age limit varies between 20 to 30 years depending on the branch.

• Engineering Branch (137 EB): BE in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

• Education Branch (137 Edu): MS/M.Phil in Maths, Psychology, Education, English, or Statistics (Min 2.5/4.0 CGPA).

• Education Branch (Islamiat): MS/M.Phil in Islamiat.

• MET Branch: M.Sc/MS in Meteorology, Environmental Science, Physics, or Maths.

• Accounts Branch: B.Com (4 years) / BBA / M.Com / MBA / ACCA or ACMA.

Selection Procedure

The road to wearing the uniform involves a rigorous and transparent testing process:

1. Intelligence Test: Followed by Academic Tests in relevant subjects.

2. Initial Medical & Interview: Conducted at I&S Centres.

3. Physical Test:

   • Running: 1.6 KM in 8 minutes (PC) or 10 minutes (SSC).

   • Push-ups & Sit-ups: 15-20 repetitions.

   • Chin-ups: 3 repetitions.

4. ISSB Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Inter-Services Selection Board.

5. Final Medical: Conducted at CMB, Lahore.

Ineligibility Criteria

You are not eligible if you have been:

• Rejected twice by ISSB.

• Permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board (PUF).

• Dismissed from Government Service.

• Convicted by a court of law for any heinous offense.
