1. General & Physical Standards

These foundational rules apply across almost all technical and specialized DSSC entries:

  • Gender: Primarily Male (though certain fields like the Lady Cadet Course run on separate tracks).

  • Marital Status: Married or Unmarried.

  • Nationality: Citizens of Pakistan and domicile holders of Azad Kashmir / Gilgit-Baltistan. Dual nationality holders must surrender their other nationality upon final selection.

  • Minimum Height: 5 feet 4 inches (162.5 cm).

  • Weight: As per the Body Mass Index (BMI) matrix.

2. Educational & Age Requirements

The exact qualification varies by your chosen branch, but the core academic benchmarks remain the same:

Academic CGPA / Grade Cutoffs:

  • Semester System: A minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 is required from an HEC/PEC-recognized university.

  • Annual System: Minimum 62.5% marks (or 50% to 60% for specific humanities subjects in the AEC).

  • Academic Record: No 3rd Division or Grade D throughout your academic career (Matric to Graduation), and usually a maximum of only one 2nd Division or Grade C.

  • Note: Candidates holding higher qualifications like an MS or MPhil with 2–3 years of work experience are typically preferred.

3. Preliminary Physical Fitness Test

Before moving on to the Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB), you must clear an initial physical assessment:

 

1.1.6 km Run:Time Limit: 9 Minutes.

A standard endurance run to measure basic aerobic capacity.

2.Push-Ups:10 Repetitions.

Must be completed properly within a 2-minute time window.

3.Sit-Ups:10 Repetitions.

Core strength assessment to be completed within 2 minutes.

4.Chin-Ups:2 Repetitions.

Upper body strength test to complete the physical vetting.

 

4. Primary Ineligibility Conditions

You are automatically disqualified from applying if you fall into any of these categories:

  • Twice rejected by the ISSB for Post-Graduate / Direct Short Service Commission entries.

  • Permanently declared medically unfit by an Appeal Medical Board (AMB) or tested positive for Hepatitis B or C.

  • Withdrawn, dismissed, or resigned from any Armed Forces training academy or government service on disciplinary or medical grounds.
