The Pakistan Army has officially announced the recruitment of Trained Nurses as Lieutenants (Female) through the Armed Forces Nursing Services (AFNS) for the 2026 entry. This is a prestigious opportunity for professional nurses to serve the nation while building a secure and honorable career in the defense sector.


Detailed Eligibility Requirements

While the primary qualification is a BSc Nursing (4x years) and an age bracket of 18–28 years, there are additional physical and administrative standards you must meet:

  • Physical Standards: Candidates must have a minimum height of 5 feet (152.5 cm). Weight should be proportionate to height according to the Body Mass Index (BMI).

  • Marital Status: Applicants must be unmarried, though widows or separated/divorcees without encumbrances (children) are also eligible to apply.

  • Nationality: You must be a citizen of Pakistan or a domicile holder of Azad Kashmir or Gilgit-Baltistan. If you hold dual nationality, you must surrender the non-Pakistani nationality upon final selection.

  • PNC Registration: It is mandatory for all Trained Nurse applicants to be registered with the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).


Step-by-Step Registration Process

Registration is primarily conducted online through the official portal.

  1. Online Portal: Visit www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk during the registration window of 27–28 April 2026.

  2. Form Submission: Fill out the personal and educational details accurately. Ensure you have a valid email address, as your test date and time will be communicated via email.

  3. Roll Number Slip: Once registered, you can download your computerized roll number slip from the website to bring to the preliminary test.

  4. Offline Option: Candidates without internet access can visit their nearest Army Selection and Recruitment Centre (AS&RC) with original documents to register manually.


Selection Procedure & Test Pattern

The selection process is rigorous and designed to find the most capable healthcare professionals:

  • Preliminary Test: This includes an Intelligence Test (Verbal and Non-Verbal) and an Academic Test covering nursing-related subjects.

  • Initial Medical Exam: Candidates who pass the written test undergo a basic medical screening at the recruitment center.

  • GHQ Selection Board Interview: Successful candidates from the preliminary stages are called for a final interview by the GHQ Selection Board.

  • Final Merit: The final selection is based on the candidate's overall performance in tests, interviews, and medical fitness.


Mandatory Documents for Verification

When reporting to the AS&RC for your test or registration, you must carry the following:

  • Original Certificates: Detailed marks sheets and educational degrees (Matric, FSc, BSc Nursing).

  • Attested Copies: Two sets of attested photocopies of all educational documents.

  • CNIC/B-Form: A computerized National Identity Card (Smart Card) is required; old CNICs are not accepted.

  • Photographs: 6x attested passport-sized color photographs (attested on both front and back).

  • Domicile: Attested photocopy of your domicile.

  • NOC: For those already serving in government departments, a No Objection Certificate from the current employer is required.

  • Postal Order: A crossed postal order of Rs. 100/- in favor of the Director General Personnel Administration (DGPA), GHQ Rawalpindi.


Post-Selection: Rank & Bond

Upon successful completion of the induction process, candidates are granted the rank of Lieutenant. To ensure commitment to the service, finally selected candidates are required to sign a legal bond to serve the Pakistan Army for a minimum period of ten years.
