KWSSIP Careers: Individual Consultant Opportunities (Karachi)

The Karachi Water & Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP), under the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified individual consultants for its Project Implementation Unit (PIU). This project is funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

Open Positions

The following four positions are currently open for individual consultants:

1. Deputy Project Director (01 Position)

• Education: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Management, Environmental Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 10 years in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Preferred Skills: PMP/Lean Six Sigma certification, proficiency in Primavera/MS Project, and experience with World Bank or AIIB funded projects.

2. Manager Procurement/Contracts (01 Position)

• Education: Bachelor’s (16 years) in Engineering, Law, or Business Administration with a Master’s in a related field or international certification in public procurement/supply chain.

• Experience: Minimum 10 years in procurement and contract management, specifically with FIDIC contracts and large-scale procurements.

• Advantage: Prior experience with World Bank or multilateral development partner procurement practices.

3. Gender Specialist (01 Position)

• Education: Advanced degree in Gender Studies, Social Development, Sociology, Anthropology, Public Policy, or related field.

• Experience: 7–10 years in gender, social development, GBV/SEA SH prevention, and community engagement.

• Key Knowledge: World Bank ESF, gender-related policies, and familiarity with Pakistan/Sindh institutional structures.

4. Project Management Specialist / Planning Engineer (01 Position)

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 7 years in project management, preferably in infrastructure or donor-funded projects.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Primavera and MS Project for managing complex datasets.
