The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Government of Pakistan, pursuant to an MOU signed with the Centre of South Asian Studies at the University of Cambridge, UK, is inviting applications for the prestigious position of Allama Iqbal Visiting Fellowship. This academic post is open to serving faculty members holding the rank of Associate Professor or above on a regular basis in both public and private sector universities.

The appointed Visiting Fellow will project the language, history, and culture of Pakistan at Cambridge University through teaching, research engagement, and organizing cultural events. The Ministry provides comprehensive perks including pay/allowances equivalent to BS-20/BS-21, research funds, housing/rent, visa costs, and return airfare for the fellow and immediate family members (wife and children).

Terms & Conditions

• Eligibility & Age: Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant humanities/social science field, be proficient in English, and be maximum 55 years of age on the closing date.

• Tenure: Initial appointment is for three (03) years on a deputation/contract basis, extendable annually up to a maximum of two additional years subject to satisfactory quarterly performance.

• Pay & Allowances: Equivalent to BS-20 and BS-21 based on prescribed Government of Pakistan terms.

• In-Service Applicants: Candidates currently serving in Government or Semi-Government institutions must apply through the proper channel with departmental permission.

• Selection: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. No TA/DA will be admissible. The Ministry reserves the right not to fill the post without providing any reason.
