The Government of Pakistan, through the Ministry of National Food Security & Research, is seeking a dynamic and eminent Agriculture Scientist for the prestigious position of Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC). This appointment is on a contract basis in the MP-I Scale.

Position Overview

• Post Name: Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC).

• Pay Package: MP Scale/analogous statutory position, finalized by the President of Pakistan.

• Tenure: Initially for three (03) years, extendable for up to two (02) additional years based on performance.

• Age Limit: Minimum 45 years and Maximum 62 years (as of the application closing date).

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification & Experience

• Education: Ph.D. in Agriculture-related Sciences from an HEC-recognized university.

• Experience: At least 25 years of proven experience in R&D organizations, recognized research institutions, or higher learning sectors.

• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and managing multi-disciplinary groups of scientists and researchers.

Research & Skills

• Publications: Minimum of 17 research publications in HEC-recognized refereed journals or books.

• Competencies: Ability to effectively mobilize and utilize financial and human resources, with strong communication and negotiation skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the Chief Executive of the Council.

• Exercise powers and perform functions assigned under section-9 of the PARC Ordinance, 1981.

• Delegate duties to members or officers to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
