Applications are invited for the position of Vice Chancellor at the following public sector medical universities in Punjab:

• King Edward Medical University, Lahore

• Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore

• University of Health Sciences, Lahore

• Faisalabad Medical University, Faisalabad

• Rawalpindi Medical University, Rawalpindi

Terms & Conditions

• Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must hold an MBBS degree (minimum second division) or an equivalent minimum level-III medical qualification such as FCPS, MD, MS, or a Ph.D. in basic medical sciences from an institute recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

  • Applicants must have served as a Professor for at least ten (10) years in a medical institute or university recognized by the PMDC.

  • A minimum of twenty (20) research publications in indexed medical journals recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) or PMDC is mandatory.

• Age Limit: Candidates must not be more than seventy (70) years of age on the last date of application submission.

• Tenure: The appointment will be for a non-extendable period of four (4) years, and the selected individuals shall serve during the pleasure of the Chancellor.

• Exclusivity: The Vice Chancellor cannot hold any other paid or unpaid post (administrative, academic, or honorary) in any organization or professional body during their tenure.

• Private Practice Restriction: The selected Vice Chancellors are strictly prohibited from undertaking any private practice inside or outside the premises of the university. They may only take up academic and clinical assignments within the university and its attached hospital for academic purposes.

• Mandatory Clearances: Current employees must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC), No Enquiry Certificate (NEC), and No Due Certificate (NDC) from their current employer.

Eligible candidates must follow these systematic application instructions:

1. Download Form: Visit the official portal of the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department at https://health.punjab.gov.pk/Jobs.aspx to download the prescribed proforma and view comprehensive scoring/short-listing criteria.

2. Package Preparation: Prepare your application on the prescribed proforma accompanied by six (06) hard copy sets of all required documents, including educational credentials, experience letters, research publications, and mandatory departmental clearances (NOC, NEC, NDC).

3. Labeling: Clearly write the following text on the top of the envelope: "Application for the Position of the Vice Chancellor of public sector medical universities".

4. Submission: Submit the completed document sets directly to the department's facilitation hub at the following address:
