General Eligibility Criteria & Core Rules

To apply for these academic positions at Punjab University, candidates must conform to the following institutional standards and regulations:

• Nationality: Applicants must be citizens of Pakistan.

• Core Qualification Criteria: Educational qualification and research publication requirements strictly follow the standardized eligibility criteria laid down by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the University of the Punjab.

• Pension Scheme Shift: In compliance with the competent forums of the University (the Syndicate and the Senate), all fresh/new recruitments will be strictly governed under the Punjab Defined Contribution Pension Scheme Rules 2025.

• In-Service Employees: Candidates already working on a BPS scale within or outside the university who apply through the proper channel will continue to be governed under the older, existing (BPS) Pension Rules.

• Step 1 (Online): Interested individuals must submit their preliminary application forms online via the official university employment portal at http://jobs.pu.edu.pk. Hand-delivered applications will not be processed.

• Step 2 (Hardcopy Submission): After submitting the online form, complete signed hard copies of the application form must reach the Office of the Registrar (Human Resource Branch, Admin Block, Room No. 19), University of the Punjab, Quaid-i-Azam Campus, Lahore via registered post/courier before the deadline.

• Associate Professor Requirement: Candidates applying for the Associate Professor post must additionally send a soft copy of their complete application and research publications in PDF format saved on a USB drive alongside their physical application package.
